It can't rain all the time (2019)

video (color, sound), 5 minutes 15 seconds

It can’t rain all the time is a short film showing a phenomenon that most queer people feel. This is the ideology that queer people are running out of time to experience things in their true identity that they miss out on growing up.

The film shows a personal narrative and evokes themes of chasing and confronting. It uses a slew of short clips after longer durational scenes to show time impermanence and how individuals are rushed to experience certain milestones.

It was shot over a two-week period combined with found footage to create this feeling. The motivation is to tap into this sense of mortality and how experiences usually developed and exhausted by heteronormative individuals at a young age are taken away from queer individuals.
