I hear the enemy (audio hostem) (2019)
Video (color and sound), 3 minutes 15 seconds
This video work is a commentary on the complexities of identity and the church. It focuses on the blending of the archive and deep histories that play into societal giants in the form of moralities.
After the societal shift from polytheism to monotheism, people viewed and continue to view homosexuality as a sin. This homogenous church ideology caused a shift in world view. This religious bias against gay people causes misinterpretations of love and how people see the love that gay people share with one another.
When minds are approached with conversion ideologies there becomes this disconnect with real consciousness, a herd mentality, then a primal survival instinct kicks in and there’s a disregard to individual thoughts and processes.
